Gallery Walk In Lancaster, PA

Lancaster is known for its world-class art galleries.  The first Friday of each month is the Art Gallery Walk LancasterExtravaganza in Lancaster.  Gallery Row is concentrated on the first and second blocks of North Prince Street but there are many other fun galleries along intersecting streets.  Art ranges from fine to funky modern.  Fun shops, restaurants, and cafes are sprinkled among the galleries.  There were also performances, music, munchies, coffee and wine offered in many of the galleries.  You can feel the creative energy swirling around in the air and around you.  Crowds of people, many dressed up for a night out come to take part in this friendly and social experience.  There’s a festive feeling in the air.

Gallery Walk LancasterI did the gallery walk extravaganza for the first time this autumn.  Street parking was close to impossible to find but I had no problem finding a spot in the Prince Street Garage.  The air was crisp and cool with a faint smell of lit fireplaces and fresh fallin leaves.  My first stop was the Prince Street Cafe where I met my friends (15 N Prince St, Lancaster, PA 17603).  I used the cafe’s facilities which were will supplied, warm and clean.  The cafe atmosphere is quaint, warm and very friendly.  It almost reminded me of the cafes you find in Ivy League College towns.  It was a busy prince street cafenight for the cafe with people ordering hot soups, sandwiches, specialty coffees, and yummy pastries.  I picked up a hot mocha and a delicious chocolate macaroon to take with me on my walk..  The store front windows along Prince Street were all decorated and twinkling with all sorts of interesting art and decor.  You can the perfect gift for that special someone or those that have

everything.  There were sculptures, portraits, paintings, photographs, wooden art forms, metal art, glass art, postcard art, air plants and handmade containers and much more.  We at dinner at The Pressroom Restaurant, 26 W King St, Lancaster, PA 17603, before heading home.  The food was magnificent! I would definitely recommend it.
